We are a group of Australians united to defend the traditional natural family and to foster conditions in society for the family to flourish. We believe that traditional natural marriage is essential for the family.

Family

We defend the family because it is the basic social unit of society. A person has the best opportunity to develop themselves within the supportive framework of a natural family.

Community

Families link with other families to form communities. Family and community are natural settings for personal development.

Tradition

The experience of many generations, expressed in customs and values, is tradition. Tradition contributes to the strengthening and developing of families. Tradition brings the best of the past to the present, to guide us as we plan for the future. The family has a natural ability to pass tradition on to future generations.

Private Property

To own is a basic human right. Ownership encourages initiative and gives us material conditions to develop our potential. Family property provides stability and independence to families as they grow and develop down through the generations.

Taking a principled,
not a personal, stand

Australian TFP has no intention to defame or disparage anyone. We are not moved by personal hatred against any individual. Our only intention is the defence of natural marriage and the family. We feel compassion and pray for those who struggle against the temptation to homosexual sin.

We pray for those who fall into homosexual sin out of human weakness, that God may assist them with His grace. We are conscious of the enormous difference between these individuals and those who wish to gain acceptance for the homosexual lifestyle and impose it on society.

However, we pray for these too. We pray also for the judges, legislators and government officials who in one way or another take steps to favour homosexuality and same-sex marriage. We do not judge their intentions, interior dispositions, or personal motivations.

We reject and condemn any violence. We exercise our constitutional rights to free speech and our right to candid and unapologetic public expression of our beliefs. To the arguments in favour of homosexuality and same-sex marriage we respond with arguments based on Reason, Natural Law and Divine Revelation.
